1. Who we are
8bot is operated by Pax8, Inc. (“Pax8,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit get8bot.com or use 8bot, including its bots, connected services, and hosted computers.
For privacy questions or requests, contact support@get8bot.com. This policy covers 8bot; third-party websites and services have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, password hash, account settings, time zone, and authentication and verification records.
- Your work in 8bot: messages, bot instructions and memories, responses, uploaded files, attachments, tasks, routines, and the inputs and results of tools used to carry out your requests.
- Connected account information: the provider and account you connect, permissions you authorize, authorization tokens, and data retrieved or sent using those permissions. Depending on the connection and your requests, this may include email messages and attachments, calendar events, contacts, or other service content.
- Hosted computer information: files, browser sessions, screenshots, and activity generated while you or your bot use an 8bot computer. Signed-in sessions and files can persist between tasks.
- Technical and usage information: session identifiers, browser and device information, network information such as IP addresses, timestamps, model and tool usage, consumption estimates, and operational, security, and failure records.
- Communications: information you provide when contacting support or giving feedback. If you enable notifications, we store the subscription information needed to deliver them.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and secure your account; run bots and hosted computers; respond to your instructions; maintain context and memories; deliver connected-service features, routines, and notifications; measure usage; diagnose failures; provide support; prevent abuse; and meet legal obligations.
Tasks and routines you enable may continue while you are away. A bot may access a connected service or take an action within the permissions you have given it. You can review and manage connections and routines in 8bot.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide the service you request, for legitimate interests such as security and service reliability, to comply with legal obligations, or with your consent where required.
4. AI processing and service providers
8bot uses external AI and infrastructure providers. To answer a request or perform a task, we may send relevant chat context, instructions, connected-service content, tool results, files, or images to the configured AI provider. Hosted-computer and storage providers process the information needed to run those features.
Providers can include Together.ai for model inference and CodeSandbox for hosted computers, as well as other providers used for features you enable. The provider depends on the feature and configuration. Using a connected service can also send information to that service or a destination you instruct your bot to use.
We use connected-account content for the features you request, not for targeted advertising. We do not use Google Workspace data to train or improve generalized AI or machine-learning models. Provider processing and retention can vary; this policy does not promise that all information remains on your device or that a provider never retains operational data.
5. Google account data
Connecting Google is optional. If you connect Gmail or Google Calendar, 8bot accesses the account information and content covered by the permissions you approve to provide the email, calendar, and automation features you request. Reading and sending email or changing calendar events depends on the permissions granted.
8bot’s use and transfer of Google API data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google Workspace data is used for the user-facing features you request, not advertising, resale, or training generalized AI models.
Transfers of this data are limited to what is needed to provide or improve those features, security purposes, legal requirements, or a permitted business transfer with any required consent. Human access to Google API data is limited to cases permitted by that policy, such as your affirmative consent to inspect specific information, necessary security investigations, legal compliance, or permitted aggregated internal operations.
You can disconnect Google in 8bot and revoke access in your Google Account connections. Revoking access stops future authorized access; it does not automatically erase content already saved in chat history, files, or backups. Contact us to request deletion of retained information.
8. Retention and security
We retain information as needed to provide ongoing account, chat, memory, file, and automation features, resolve support issues, secure the service, and satisfy legal obligations. Retention varies by record type and purpose; there is no single deletion period for all 8bot data. Some records may remain in backups or operational records after removal from the active service.
We use safeguards such as access controls, password hashing, encrypted storage for connector credentials, and HTTPS for the public service. No system is completely secure. 8bot is not an end-to-end encrypted messaging service: authorized systems must process content to provide its features.
9. Your choices and rights
You can manage available account settings, connected services, routines, and notification permissions. To request access, correction, a copy, or deletion of your personal information or account, email support@get8bot.com. To request account-wide deletion, contact support; disconnecting a plugin or deleting a bot is not the same as deleting your account.
Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law; withdrawing consent does not affect prior lawful processing.
10. International processing and age
8bot and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws from your location. Where required, applicable safeguards must be used for international transfers.
8bot is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as 8bot changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice of material changes where required by law.
